Ecommerce websites

Online stores
that sell.

Every online store starts with what you sell and who buys it. Here is what shapes a store people trust enough to buy from, with three live stores from our own client list.

Ask what an ecommerce website costs and you will find answers all over the place, because an online store is not one thing. A ten-product joinery shop and a trade supplier with thousands of lines can sit on the same platform and still be completely different builds.

Below is what really shapes a store that sells, followed by three stores we look after in Dublin and Northern Ireland. When you are ready, tell us what you sell and we will scope a store around your range.

Start with the range

It starts with
what you sell.

The shape of your store comes from your products and how people buy them. How many lines you carry, how complicated the options are, whether trade and retail customers see different prices, and which systems the shop has to talk to all decide what the build involves.

  • Product range, sizes and options
  • Trade and retail pricing
  • Delivery zones, couriers and collection
  • Stock, accounts and the systems you already run

Choosing a platform

WooCommerce, Shopify
or custom.

Most growing businesses in the UK and Ireland choose between WooCommerce, built on WordPress, and Shopify. WooCommerce gives you full control over design and content. Shopify is a managed platform with less technical upkeep. A fully custom build only earns its place once a business has outgrown both. We build and support WooCommerce and Shopify stores, and we will recommend the one that fits your range before you commit.

  • WooCommerce: full control of design and content
  • Shopify: managed, with less upkeep
  • Custom: for stores that have outgrown both

A shop front is easy. A store people trust enough to buy from is the work.

The build

What goes into
a store that sells.

An online shop is more than a template with a basket bolted on. Every stage below shapes the finished store, and each one is where a cut corner shows up later.

  • Discovery

Your range, your customers, trade and retail pricing, delivery zones, and what your current site gets wrong.

  • Design

A store that looks like your brand, not a stock theme with your logo dropped on top.

  • Build

Catalogue structure, product options, payments, delivery rules and the integrations your business already runs on.

  • Photography and copy

Product photography and descriptions that sell, created for your brand rather than lifted from a supplier.

  • Testing and launch

Checkout tested end to end on mobile and desktop before a single order goes through.

  • After launch

New products, seasonal delivery rules, security updates and campaigns. A store is never finished.

Photography

Products people
want to hold.

Stock images make every store look the same. Product photography and video made for your brand is often the biggest single difference between a shop people browse and a shop people buy from, and it keeps the store and your social feed looking like one business.

Real stores

Three stores,
three kinds of buyer.

Same broad brief: “sell our products online”. What each store needed came from the products and the people buying them.

Tiles and bathrooms, Dublin

New Look Tiles
& Bathrooms.

A tile and bathroom showroom at Roselawn Shopping Centre in Dublin 15. The WooCommerce store puts hundreds of tiles online by type, size and finish, and keeps the showroom one click away for customers who want to see a tile in person before they buy.

  • Range organised by tile type, size and finish
  • Colour options that swap the product photo
  • Every page points back to the Dublin 15 showroom

Tiles and bathrooms, Northern Ireland

DB Tiles
& Bathrooms.

One of the largest tile and bathroom showrooms in Northern Ireland, based in Moira. The store sells the showroom: a full tile and bathroom catalogue filtered by effect and colour, with every product leading to an enquiry, a sample or a visit rather than a cold checkout.

  • Catalogue filtered by effect and colour
  • Enquiries and sample requests in place of a basket
  • Design service and project gallery alongside the range

Trade supplies, Northern Ireland

MHS Hygiene
& Workwear.

A Northern Ireland hygiene and workwear supplier selling to businesses across the UK. The Shopify store carries cleaning, paper, gloves, PPE and branded workwear from names like Snickers and Portwest, with same-day dispatch and free delivery thresholds made clear before anyone reaches the basket.

  • Trade range across hygiene, PPE and workwear
  • Dispatch and delivery promises up front
  • Brand pages that rank alongside the collections

Before you ask

Straight answers.

The questions we hear most from businesses planning an online shop.

How much does an ecommerce website cost in the UK and Ireland?

It depends on your range, how complex your options and pricing are, which systems the store connects to, and how much photography and copy it needs. Rather than a figure that does not fit your business, we scope your store and give you a tailored quote in writing before any work starts. Tell us what you sell to get started.

Is Shopify or WooCommerce cheaper to run?

Neither wins in every case. Shopify bundles hosting and upkeep into a monthly subscription, while WooCommerce gives you full control but needs hosting and more hands-on care. Which works out better depends on your range and how much control you want, and we will recommend one on the first call.

How long does an ecommerce website take to build?

A focused catalogue can launch in a matter of weeks. Custom pricing, integrations or a large range take longer. You get a realistic timeline with your quote, along with what we need from you to hit it.

Do I need professional product photography?

Not always, but it is usually what separates a store that looks like every other template from one that reflects the quality of what you sell. We shoot photography and video in house and build it into the plan where it will make a difference.

Can you move my existing shop to a new platform?

Yes. We plan the move so your products and content come across and your existing links keep working, so the search visibility you have built comes with you.

What happens after the store goes live?

Launch is a milestone, not the finish line. Stores need new products, seasonal delivery rules, security updates and campaigns. For most clients that ongoing care sits inside a monthly retainer alongside their marketing.
